Flavors of Japan – ‘Norwegian coffee and Japanese sweets tasting’

The Japan-Norway Society would invite you to our event Flavors of Japan – ‘Norwegian
coffee and Japanese sweets tasting’ in collaboration with Fuglen and Japanese sweets
project ‘Sumiya’, Wagashi maker Ms. Rie Nonaka on Thursday 08. March.
Fuglen will introduce two hot beverages, one cold beverage and one espresso based drink.


Rie Nonaka will make Rice cake with dried fruits, Sweet white bean paste jelly with apple,
Botamochi (Sticky rice dumpling with red bean paste), and Zunda mochi (Rice dumpling
with Edamame bean paste), and J-NS will introduce 2 types sweets from Japan.
Head barista Ludvig Hopstock and Rie Nonaka will combine Norwegian coffee with
Japanese sweets to make pairings that bring out the flavors of the coffee and the sweets.
At the beginning we will have a small introduction of Norwegian coffee and Japanese
sweets by Ludvik and Rie, and then we’ll start tasting and pairing.
Let’s enjoy Norwegian coffee and Japanese sweets tasting and pairing together!

Time: 10:00-12:00 and 17:00-19:00 (2 sessions)
Place: Fuglen, Universitetsgata 2, 0164 Oslo, entrance from Pilestredet
Price: 200kr for J-NS members, 280kr for non-members
(Including coffee tasting and 6 sorts of Japanese sweets)
