Attention Trondheim! Wednesday December 7th at 18:00, the JNS will be holding our FIRST EVER event in the Viking Age capital— a sake-cocktail introduction at the award-winning Vinbaren of Britannia Hotel. Under the tutelage of bar manager Øyvind Lindgjerdet, attendees will have the opportunity to taste different sake-infused cocktails. Øyvind is one of the 5 Sake Sommeliers at the Britannia Hotel trained by the JNS’s very own Kaori Ishii. 

Britannia’s own drink menu has Trondheim's history flowing through its very DNA, courtesy of Øyvind’s creativity, dedication and bartending mastery: “I wanted to dive into the history of both Trondheim and Hotel Britannia, which has been the city’s most influential meeting place for the past 150 years. This menu is alive, meaning we add new stories and cocktails over time," he has explained. Learn more about Øyvind’s experience at the Britannia Hotel.

At this event, he will be sharing the hotel’s own history and facilities (like their Japanese-inspired grill) before teaching participants about sake and the cocktails he has concocted using various types. The event is expected to last an hour and a half, but participants are welcome to stay longer if they wish.

JNS members get a special discount on their first drink of the night (175 kr), and if you sign up for 2023 JNS membership, you will receive the discount. Non-members will be charged 195 kr for their first drink. Additional drinks will cost 175kr.  Check out our membership pricing on our website.
